The Sandy Pruett Project is built to protect the privacy and safety of every caregiver who shares a story. We collect as little personal information as possible. We do not sell, rent, or trade data.

  1. Who We Are

The Sandy Pruett Project is an anonymous, caregiver-powered advocacy platform focused on improving care for people with Severe Mental Illness.

Website: https://sandypruettproject.org

  1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information you voluntarily submit through our forms.

This may include:

• Your written story
• Non-identifying details you choose to include
• Optional contact information if you request follow-up
• State of residence, if submitted as part of documentation efforts

You may submit stories anonymously. We do not require names, phone numbers, or identifying details.

We do not collect:

• Account registrations
• User logins
• Comment data
• Advertising profiles
• Behavioral tracking data

  1. Listening Sessions and Recordings

As part of the State Listening Tour and documentation efforts, virtual sessions may be recorded for internal documentation purposes.

Participants are notified in advance if recording is enabled. No names or identifying details are published without explicit written permission.

Participation in group sessions is voluntary. You may request to speak off-record.

  1. Cookies and Technical Data

Our site uses basic technical cookies required for functionality. We do not use advertising cookies.

Standard server logs may collect non-identifying technical information such as browser type or approximate geographic region. This data is not connected to story submissions.

  1. Embedded Content

Some pages may include embedded elements such as video or audio players. Embedded content behaves as if you visited the hosting platform directly. Those platforms may collect their own analytics under their own policies. The Sandy Pruett Project does not receive or store that external data.

  1. How Stories Are Used

Submitted stories support advocacy, education, and policy reform.

Before publication, we remove names and identifying details unless you explicitly request attribution.

By submitting a story, you grant permission for us to:

• Publish an anonymized version on our website or social platforms
• Use anonymized excerpts in reports, presentations, or policy discussions
• Include stories in aggregated state or national documentation summaries

We will never attach your real identity to a story without your explicit written consent.

  1. Data Retention

Stories are retained indefinitely as part of an ongoing advocacy archive unless you request removal.

Optional contact information is retained only as long as necessary for communication.

  1. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with any organization or third party.

Information may only be disclosed if legally required by court order or applicable law.

  1. Your Rights

At any time, you may request:

• Removal of your story
• Removal of optional contact information
• A copy of any information you previously submitted

Email: sandypruettproject@sandypruettproject.org

  1. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and administrative steps to protect submitted stories and optional contact information from unauthorized access or misuse. No system can guarantee absolute security, but we minimize data collection to reduce risk.

  1. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated periodically. The “Last updated” date reflects the most recent revision.
