The Sandy Pruett Project collects real stories of denied care for people with untreated Severe Mental Illness.
These stories do the work families cannot. They document what happens when care is refused, delayed, or blocked, when privacy rules shut families out, courts misunderstand anosognosia, hospitals discharge without follow-up, and police are left to respond instead of clinicians. These stories are shared with legislators to show the real consequences of denied care, and why reform is urgent.
